The doctors in our practice work as a medical team, so you are free to see any doctor of your choice. We would, however, advise you to see the same doctor for each medical problem whenever possible. This ensures consistency of approach.

Should your regular doctor be unavailable, one of the other doctors will be glad to advise you. Each doctor holds regular surgeries at different times of the week. The receptionists will find a suitable time for you. If your problem is genuinely urgent tell her so that you may be seen quickly.

On-line Booking

We offer an on-line booking service for doctors’ appointments via the ‘EMIS-access’ online service. If you would like to make use of this service you will need to obtain a PIN number and user-ID from the surgery. To obtain these please enquire at the reception desk of either surgery IN PERSON with PROOF OF I.D. (this will be required even if you are well known to the receptionist). Once you have an I.D. and PIN, you may register at the log-on site at:

Appointment System

We operate a managed appointment system known as ‘Advanced Access’ by which we attempt to ensure that all patients may obtain a suitable appointment at they time they need one. Under this system approximately 2/3 of doctors’ appointments are made available to pre-book up to 6-weeks ahead and may be booked in person, by phone (0800-1830hrs) or via the on-line booking service. The remainder of the doctors’ appointments are kept in reserve and are made available for ‘on the day’ booking. By this method we try to ensure fair access to all patients. Unfortunately, at times of high pressure, demand for appointments may exceed our supply. In this circumstance, please be patient with us.

Once all the ‘on the day’ appointments have been booked, patients suffering from genuinely urgent medical problems may be seen at the end of routine surgery. In this case’ please be prepared to wait and please do not ask for an urgent consultation unless you have a genuinely urgent medical problem. Should you choose to attend this emergency service with a non-urgent problem the doctor may wish to discuss this with you at the consultation.

Nurses Clinics

The nurse’s clinics do not operate the same system and you may, if you wish, make a pre-booked appointment to see them.

We prefer children under 16 years of age to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Extended Hours Surgeries

We provide a routine surgery at our Albion House premises from 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Unfortunately we are prevented by planning regulations from holding these surgeries at our Withymoor premises.

These ‘extended hours’ surgeries are STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and are intended for those patients who work during normal surgery hours. We request that you avoid booking these appointments if you are able to attend during normal opening hours. NB. It is not possible for us to provide any other routine services at these times.

Due to concerns about staff safety during these late surgeries there is also a much higher level of security and patients will not be granted access into the building without an appointment.

EMERGENCY medical care during these ‘extended hours’ remains the responsibility of NHS Dudley CCG and will continue to be provided by Malling Health as at present. Patients who require urgent/emergency care during these ‘extended’ hours should NOT attend the surgery but should instead contact the out-of-hours service via the main practice phone number as usual.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know at once so that someone else may be able to take advantage of it.
